PNP Caraga probes robbery with murder of bank employee By PO3 Philip Amer Posas Mazo; PO2 Darlin Cabalinan Migullas Butuan City (1 July) -- On June 25, 2009 around 9:30 in the morning, COP of Las Nieves Municipal Police Station received a telephone call from Town SB member Rosita Casibo reporting a dead body of a male person identified as Eric Soberano, of legal age, married and a resident of Barangay Del Monte, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur who was found at Purok-6 Barangay Lingayao, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte. SPO3 Siega and PO1 Torralba responded to the crime scene and found the victim lying on the grassy portion covered with grass under a "Santol" tree. Soberano is an employee of Peoples Bank of Caraga as a collector. He sustained wounds on the right portion of his head believed to be struck by a hard object which resulted to his death. Recovered from the crime scene were loan application documents and a single motorcycle Yamaha DT 125 with chassis number 4AR-070761 owned by the victim. Said motorcycle was found 20 meters away from the victim's body. The perpetrator carted the belongings of the victim containing money including the victim's wallet. Investigation revealed that prior to the incident around 4:00 in the afternoon of June 24, the victim was seen riding his motorcycle from Barangay Kasiklan passing thru Barangay Balonganga heading towards Barangay Lingayao before he was found dead. Case is still under thorough investigation by Las Nieves Municipal Police Station for the possible identification of the suspects.
